New and Unexpected Crayola Products
Offer Kids More Color, More Fun, and More Ways to Play!

EASTON, Pa. -- Kids can expect the unexpected from Crayola products in 2003, as the brand that brought us crayons way back in 1903 celebrates its 100th birthday. The new Crayola products give kids more color, more fun and more ways to play! Kids can customize and collect Zoogles -- little creatures with big personalities. The Crayola Crayon Maker lets kids create their own unique crayons right on the tabletop. And budding young artists can paint without stressing out mom with Crayola No-Mess Sponge Painting.

Crayola Zoogles are cool little creatures that kids can customize and collect. The 3" mini-monsters are made of a special material that allows Crayola washable paints to immediately soak in, making this a low-mess activity that is fun for kids and worry-free for moms. There are three kits, each containing three Zoogles, eight washable watercolors, a paint brush and three collectible cards describing each Zoogle’s personality. One of the silly critters in the Zoogle family, "Droogle," loves to hide behind the dryer, climb mountains of laundry and steal socks when no one is looking!

Crayola Crayon Maker, the first crayon-making machine of its kind, was named one of the top toys for 2002 by kids and toy testers alike. Just close the lid, turn the dial and watch as your well-used crayon bits -- "leftolas" -- are melted down and transformed into spectacular, new crayons! New add-on accessories for 2003 will keep your tabletop factory cranking out even more custom crayons. Crayon Maker Crayon Refills, which sell for $1.99, fit perfectly in the Crayon Maker’s melting tray and come in cool colors that kids love, like bright neons and sparkly metallics. Crayon Maker Molds let kids have fun creating unique crayon shapes, like vehicles and jungle animals, for $5.49.

Crayola No-Mess Sponge Painting is designed with younger children in mind. There are two themed kits -- Endangered Species and Garden -- that come with everything kids need to complete their colorful projects. Each sponge set comes with a series of facts to help kids 3 and older learn while they paint. The sponges are equipped with easy-grip handles that are specially designed for small fingers, making them easy for kids to use and keeping mess to a minimum, which pleases moms. Each sturdy, reusable storage container includes four handled sponges, four jars of 2-oz. washable Crayola paint, a tablet of paper and a paint tray.
