Crayon Fans Can Now Pick Their Own Palette
Crayola Company Responds to Consumer Requests
to Create Their Own 64 Box

EASTON, Pa., February 12, 2002 - Responding to the requests of crayon fans around the country wanting a say in the colors that come inside their Crayola 64 Box of crayons, the Crayola company is now offering a way for colorers crazy about cornflower or bonkers for burnt sienna to personalize a box with the color palette of their choice.

Crayon enthusiasts of all ages can now create their own "Custom 64 Box," a cousin to the classic assortment featuring 64 brilliant colors and the built-in sharpener, using the "Crayola Custom 64 Box Creator." The virtual crayon factory at the www. Crayola.com lets consumers fill a 64 Box with a personal mix of crayons in the colors they are particularly passionate about.

"We've called on crayon fans to help us name new crayon colors, and this time, they've called on us for the freedom to fill a box with their favorite hues," says Stacy Gabrielle, Crayola spokesperson, whose favorite color is purple mountain's majesty. "In a matter of seconds, children and adults can create a custom box that uniquely expresses their color preferences."

Selecting from the 120 crayon colors in the Crayola palette, crayon enthusiasts with a single favorite can fill a box with a sea of 64 "caribbean greens," a bunch of "banana manias" or an army of "cadet blues." Boxes can be filled with up to four colors and come directly from the Crayola headquarters in Easton, Pa.

With a point and click, special combinations like Citrus Squeeze featuring "electric lime," "outrageous orange," "atomic tangerine" and "laser lemon," and TV Dinner filled with "macaroni and cheese," "asparagus," "eggplant" and "cranberry" crayons can be instantly served up. Crayon fans with a fondness for feathered creatures will flock to the "birds of a feather" assortment featuring "robin's egg blue," "canary" and "pink flamingo."

Crayola crayons currently come in 120 colors including 23 reds, 20 greens, 19 blues, 16 purples, 14 oranges, 11 browns, 8 yellows, 2 grays, 2 coppers, 2 blacks, 1 white, 1 gold and 1 silver.
