A Most Colorful Milestone!

Over the years The Crayola FACTORY has seen many changes to keep things fresh and new for the visitors. From changing themes six times a year to new exhibits, guests have a different experience each time they visit. Past exhibits have included: Chagall for Children, The Vision of Jim Henson, Miffy, the World’s Largest Crayon and the Color Park.

“Exhibits and programming have been key to giving visitors a reason to visit The Crayola FACTORY,” says Ramona Hollie-Major, Executive Director, The Crayola FACTORY. “We’ve incorporated changing themes, added family fun nights, as well as character visit events to provide visitors with more opportunities to come to our facility.”

Not only have fresh exhibits and programming kept The Crayola FACTORY top of mind, but so have wonderful events. Some of the headlines over the years, include celebrity visits highlighting one of the most colorful places in the world. In 2004, John Ratzenberg filmed a segment for his show Made in America giving viewers a behind the scenes look at Crayola crayon manufacturing. In 2007, The Learning Channel’s John & Kate Plus 8 filmed an episode of this unique family’s visit to The Crayola FACTORY, and in 2008 the Food Network’s Dinner Impossible filmed a colorful dinner for 150 people with celebrity chef Michael Simon, to celebrate the anniversary of Crayola’s 64-box of crayons. Other shows that filmed at this famous location include Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Jeopardy who came to collect some fun Crayola trivia that became an entire category on that popular show.

And in 2007, who can forget “stickergate,” where the Associated Press picked up the story about stickers on the trash cans in the city of Easton, garnering more than 4 million media impressions from coast to coast.

To celebrate this exciting milestone throughout the month of April, the first 100 child walk-ins will receive a free art workshop -- a $5 value! The four millionth visitor will receive a Crayola gift basket, a family membership to The Crayola FACTORY, and other fun prizes.
